NAFSA: Association of International Educators


NAFSA: Association of International Educators is a member organization promoting international education and providing professional development opportunities to the field. Hundreds of NAFSA members volunteer to serve the Association and thousands advocate for international education. The site includes resources on international education, membership and conference information, publication and grants.

UNDP - United Nations Development Program - Resources on Sustainable Development


Provides resources, news, research, and analysis on sustainable development, poverty alleviation, democracy-building, environmental protection, public health, and empowering women.

Zunia Knowledge Exchange: Development Gateway Foundation


This site has a multitude of resources for development professionals including:

  • Virtual Communities - Read and post papers or articles on development activity around the world.
  • Aid Directory- Online database of aid awarded to countries.
  • Government Tenders - Listing of vendors or service providers for development projects.
  • Country Resources - Connects current development projects to partners or investors.

Aid Workers Network


With links to a variety of funding agencies, this site is set up to enable aid workers to share practical advice and resources with each other. It includes links to funding sources, networking opportunities, articles on different aid issues, and practical advice for aid workers by aid workers, plus resources for career opportunities in aid work.

GDNet Knowledge Services


GDNet provides southern researchers with a space to profile their work and opportunities to engage with others working in development policy and practice. The tools and services they offer have been developed specifically to support researchers working in developing countries and to make their work known to an international audience.

Transitions Abroad - A Portal for Meaningful Work, Study, and Living Abroad


Includes list of International NGOs and their website address; career guide on international development work, and international job sites by region and by profession.

Foundation center - Online Course on Proposal and Budget Development


(English, Francais, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, and Español)

This course describes how to prepare of the various components of a funding proposal, and includes planning, research, and cultivation of potential foundation and corporate donors.

This online course is designed to help with the basics of developing a project budget, and it is geared for those who have general knowledge of proposal development. (Beginners might want to take the Proposal Writing Short Course.)
