Invitation to IFP Fellow's Book Launch

When: Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 5PM Where: The Nairobi Serena Mr Raphael Obonyo, Ford Foundation - IFP fellow, and the 2015 Africa’s Most Inspirational Youth, authored the book titled Conversations about the Youth in Kenya. In Memoriam: Dr. Hafsat Shittu

The IFP community lost a dear friend, mentor, and colleague from Nigeria to the tragic Hajj stampede near Mecca, Saudi Arabia last month. Dr. Hafsat Shittu, an IFP Fellow from 2002 to 2006, was part of the medical team assembled to accompany Hajj pilgrims. Dr. Shittu completed her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. During her time at Strathclyde Dr. Shittu explored the use of tissue culture experiments as an alternative to experimentation on animals. A message to the IFP Community from Former IFP Executive Director Joan Dassin: Dear IFP Family, I would like to share some very sad news with all of you. Our dear friend and colleague, Dra. Fúlvia Rosemberg, passed away on Friday, September 12, in São Paulo. We join her family, friends, colleagues and all the IFP fellows from Brazil in mourning her sudden and untimely passing.
